engine is the rover based leyland P76 (Aussie built car) 4.4l all alloy engine with Supra 5spd. Don't ask me why it is on that stupid angle - there doesn't really seem to be any clearance issues, but that is how it was when I got it - all the conversion work is top class so I guess it can stay like that. The carb does not clear the bonnet, but that drag style scoop is long gone, replaced with a Torana A9X style scoop (another Aussie only car)

Were the rocker covers from a 3.5 litre version? I find it strange because on both of my P76's the rocker covers are blank

I think that what you have in your Range Rover is a direct copy of the 1963 Buick 215 cubic inch engine with Rover rocker covers & Lucas[?] electrics. [The Brits bought the engine from GM]
They are a very good engine, but not because they are British Rover engines. They were also optional in Pontiac Tempests but I prefer the Oldsmobile version of it with wedge combustuon chambers & four extra head bolts. [per side]
