sold this one to fund the L18 coupe. I had built a warm A14 with Mitsubishi pistons for higher CR, a 32/72ish cam, twin SUs and 4-1 headers. Sounded sweet, but really wasn't that fast. Destroyed gearboxes on a regular basis though!

Did you get around dyno'ing it?
What comp ratio did you get with the mitsi pistons? Is it difficult to fit?

Looks nice and straight. I would have kept it.

never dyno'd it. I think they were 4G32 mitsubishi pistons. pin diametre is the same so no effort involved in fitting them. Just milled the tops flat - they have a slight dish standard. I think it was running around 10.2:1.

like I said it wasn't that fast - the next coupe I had with a near standard L16 (32/72 cam and twin Hitachi SUs) it had at first was noticeably faster and nicer to drive with lots more torque.

Looks hot harry!

I just got another running L16 setup for my daily driver, will be fitting it next weekend after changing a few gaskets and new timing chain.

Also had a chat to the bloke about the steering boxes, are you in any rush? He said he may be able to work something out after he's finished buying his house in the next couple months.

It is not that much more than GX comp.
Did you use these pistons because the A14 does'nt have a high comp standard?

thanks Sean. No rush mate, I'm happy to wait till he's ready.

1200GXman, yeah the A14 had alot lower comp than the A12GX. can't really run alot more comp than this on our pump fuel over here.
