Made some more progress. All rust cut from the firewall/wheelarch/sill area and welded up. Sooo much rust. Its scary to think it was driving around like that just hidden by someones dodgy bog. Both sides too. Just the upper rail to weld back in now(+ grinding welds and stickerflexing) and shes ready for paint. Thank god. Not long sow. Also the floor has been welded up in some areas.

And im happy to know shes at least 95% rust free and solid again. I say that because im sure id find more if it were to be sandblasted. Im been realistic.

Thanks.

No worries Geoff. Its coming together now so shouldnt be long. Just weld the top rail back in and put the new struts in and she'll roll once again. It'll be able to get on a trailor now.

I hope you gave yourself some extra room for your 20" Bling while you were at it.

Most people would junk a car with this much rust in it. I thought I was the only mad one to take on projects like this. . .

Maybe we are all a little crazy. . .

Another datto about to see the light of day!

What "Tag" was on the top right of the firewall? Beside the compliance plate???

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. I mean i knew it had some rust but didnt realise the extent until i peeled off all the sticker flex and bog. My heart sunk but I never lost hope, but i did lose patience for a while. Looked at a few other shells and they all had the tell tale rust signs in this area yet were probably worse else where. I couldnt send her to the junkyard. Too many people send cars to the scrapyard because they are affraid of a little work. And especially to a 1200. I mean you cant really pick and choose to find a good sedan anymore.

The other plate was a Mod plate for the A14.

Oh yeah. I moved the wheelarch back about 2cm for extra clearance for bigger wheels. Will be running TRX 15s at first but could end up with 13s again at some stage.
