Re: L series crossmember 3 Instead of that step though Id prefer a curve all the way to the start of the base of the mount. Then you have stress distribution. Nice setup though.

Re: L series crossmember 3 just sit the engine in the engine bay and make them the height that you want it. you probably dont want them as low as what i made mine. made making the sump a lot of work as the crank its self only had about 15-20mm clearance to the cross member before there was a sump
can sit it a bit higher if you arent going to run a down draft carby and dont mind the higher centre of gravity

Re: L series crossmember 3 what are engineers like with cutting up crossmembers Best they dont know or can you pass them...? Lucky the CA18 sits on a slant and with the FWD exa sump its a perfect fit. However would be nice to go that little bit lower for handling as stated.

Re: L series crossmember 3 They need to be x rayed and braced. Depends on each engineer you speak to for structural and load integrity. Mine was inspected for mounts and passed flying colors

Re: L series crossmember 3 Considering the height and skirt width of the L series it would be handy but pricey mod to have for extra clearance.
