Even the wiper/washer & headlight knobs have remained unchanged since January 1970.

It wouldn't take much to change the roof panel & the grille & bingo, everything old is new again.
The instruments are timeless, functional, & cost effective. No reason to change here.

Thats funny.

Half new and half old you'd think they'd change the gauges.

I'm glad they haven't change the gauges, it is one of the most timeless aspects of the 1200 -- classic round gauges. I see that most new cars are going back to them now.

I am sure it is from SA as we are the only country still producing this ute, production will be stopped in 2007 though to make place for the Nissan Tida (ute version) front wheel drive...

At least they have changed to carpet floors now. They used to come with crappy Vinyl/platic flooring.

Yes.

And how sad to hear that production is scheduled to end, especially since ute production in Ecuador ended a few years ago.

The $1.047 billion price is in Zimbabwe dollars, it is a bordering country to South Africa. Clover Leaf Motors.

How hard would it be to import a interior from there?
Probably cheaper and easier to get it a re-trimmed here.
