whoah.. I wasn't impressed until you explained the blue line. Wow.. Mad Max eat your heart out! That's a huge increase.

Thanks for sharing the results. Very interesting.

 Re: supercharged a15 dyno results
hmm seems a bit weird unless the supercharger is too big, but when i had the sc12 i read on a stock mr2 that they came on 14psi at like 3000 rpm so yours surely should be smashing 10psi way earlier....

 Re: supercharged a15 dyno results
Whats actually done to the engine itself. I expected a little more aswell. 120fly's bog stock a12 (a14 head) made around that sort of figure aswell, on less boost. And the N/A guys (heavily worked) are seeing 100rwhp without to much hassle.

In saying that its not the dyno readout that counts. Its how it drives. I bet the torque from the supercharger is magic.

Get it to the drags for some real world indication. Dynos vary way too much.

Edit- you posted before id finished lol

I had the head off a few weeks back and could not find a metal head gasket the same thicknes as the one that i took off so i had to go for a slightly thicker one would the compresion loss make me loose that much power

 Re: supercharged a15 dyno results
I have a SC14 (thanks Lobster) I will use one day
I'd hope to spin it 2:1 for a max RPM of about 6000-6500 on the engine (12-13 on the super)
I would have expected abit more HP but I guess I'm alittle spoilt with my current race engine and hope for too much.
I'd expect a blown A15 to be in the 150-160hp range myself but havng not yet built one I guess I wouldn't really know

 Re: supercharged a15 dyno results
I foun a huge boost leak testerday which was leaking from a bolt that was missing from the outlet side of the supercharger.
it now pulls like a freight train so now i will have to take it back and get another dyno read out with the real power figures.
i now have a new problem which is trying to stop the intercooler pipe which keeps blowing off from the throttle body.Because it has a non turbo ca18 thottle body the sylicon hose dose not have enough to hang on to so i will have to finde a turbo throttle boddy

Thought something must have been amiss for a supercharged, fuel injected A15 to only put out around 80rwhp.

 Re: supercharged a15 dyno results
Yes, I too would have expected a significantly higher reading also. My old blown A14 could clean an 87rwhp a14. And My a15 is even wilder still. But at least your one runs, mine wont even do that anymore. And to make matters worse, it's just too dam cold to be arsed finding out why. I look forward to seeing the revised dyno figures.

i think i found another boost leak today. When i put my hand over the blow off valve on idle i can feel it sucking so i would say under boost presure it may be leaking
ahhh it never ends

 Re: supercharged a15 dyno results
interesting stuff

im chasing a boost leak at the moment

well i fixed it, and it must have blown the silicon goo out... unfortunately i have to pull out my radiator to get to my intercooler so its a pain in the butt

i got 75kW at the wheels with my twin turbo stock internal injected a15

that was maxing out the injectors at 4000rpm (with a leaky pressure regulator) and tuned really poorly, still bloody quick

one day i'll fix it up as a daily again and go spend the $900 for a decent tune up

I'd do it today but im not too well...

[edit] it was making 15psi when i fixed the boost leak, fast but a bit scary for the stock head gasket

there's never enough power, big hp is 100kW to someone with 50kW

but no matter what you have, 6mnths goes by and you want more!

this was the first time i have built a car like this with the fuel injection and all and with no outside help at all (exept for you guys)
and i learned so so much doing it.
Before i did this i would not have dreamed that i could takle a ca18 conversion by my selfe but now i am fully confident that i can
so bring it on moles

 Re: supercharged a15 dyno results
Do you have a blower bypass? the blue line (blower off) would be trying to draw through closed blower blades, so getting it to run at all like that would have to be a major achievment!!
I have a SC14 in the shed at the moment and I'm looking at mounting options- but I was punting on at least 70 rwKw, non intercooled, so this result on a injected intercooled engine is not encouraging.

What pulley ratio were you running for a 10psi result? cam? head work?

 Re: supercharged a15 dyno results
its all standard exept for metal shim head gasket and inlet porting. the charger bypasses through the blowoff valve. i think it is the standard pully and should run higher boost now i have found the boost leak

 Re: supercharged a15 dyno results
So are you just running a shim (ACL or whatever) or are you using a head gasket on top of it?

As for the pulley I just looked back through your pics..... man I have a cr@p memory!!

yes i am using a head gasket on top of the shim

this set up has previosly put pot 112rwk
unfortunatly the boost leak held it back this time
