 Re: dumpedute
my mags went striaght on they 185/14/60R, perfomance mags aare easy to get just go to a tyre place ask about em (superlites)

the 32/36 weber on my A12 goes much harder than the 20/26 hitachi, take off is much better

my mate just bought a datto ute with a A15 in it and there is not much differnent bettween mine and his but he has the standard hitachi and no extractors.

from waht i have learnt on this site is that the A14 and A12 motors rev much harder than the A15, and they are easier to work

the best thing to do in my opinion is to change your heads to A14 (get heads worked),get nice big extractors (2 and half exhaust), get your cam worked, put in electric fuel pump and put on twin 40mm DOCH sidedraughts. this will give a nice fast ute ute for a cost effective price

p.s this what i wanna do to mine as welll

 Re: dumpedute
so all youve done so far is just put the weber on , and its a huge improvement?

id doing up the a12 a bit, goes just as hard as an a15, might be the easier/cheaper option,

mines totally standard at the moment, so might just upgrade the carb first if it is a big improvement......

what is the best carbs to put on by the way.....weber?

 Re: dumpedute
that best carb?? depends on what you want

in my opioin would be a weber if you want go hard casue they are stress free and easy to put on

twin 40 doch webers with cam done etc. would go reallly hard

 Re: dumpedute
im not sure now whether to maybe just do up the a12 a bit instead of a conversion, cause i dont want the fastest car around, just something with a bit more balls,

but by the time you do put on a new carb, extractors etc, would it have been cheaper easier to just drop in an 14/a15?

and how much power increaserougly from just puttin on your weber?

does it sit on 100kph a bit easier on the highway? or just get to 100 a whole lot quicker

 Re: dumpedute
well if you want it to sit eaiser on the hiway you want 5speed gearbox cause the rev pretty hard at 80km with 4speed

it might be easier to put A14 /A15 but they arent that cheap.

or you could work your A12

it not so much about your engine its what you do with it like widen your port holes extractors etc. any motor will go hard you just gotta do the right thing

bigger CArbie on any which ever engine is the fiisrt step then do the rest of stuff

 Re: dumpedute
i couldnt tell how much more power increase form the weber but it is much better more go off the line.

an A14/A15 is good to with big weber and etc done to it.

it all depends on how much you wanna spend

i just drove a ute wuth a toitally work A15 motor with twin 45s, i was get wheelspin no worries with cluth out in 1,2 and 3. it went really hard it was a commodore killa

i wouldnt buy one new look in the trading post there are allways deals for webers and other carbs. sometimes your lucky enough to get manifolds for Aseries

make sure whateva you buy is in realtion to what you want to do later if your goonna mod your motor alot look for twin carbs and big size ones this way you will get greater performance

look in the classifieds on www.ozdat.com and see if you can find someone selling a 32/36 weber or a Holley G180 (Pretty much the same thing) then go to autobarn or whatevr you have near by and buy an adapter that will adapt it to your inlet manifold.

Even if you do get another engine. Then this should go on the new engine anyway.

Ummm around $50 for the carb and another $40 or so for the adapter I think...
