I could trace one out on some cardboard for you and could organize for you to pick it up

Just a stupid idea but you could try to charge your battery and see if that does anything

thanks. The bloke who I bought it off of gave me a 120y manual and said the cars are basically the same. I assume he means the engines because the 120y has an a12 and so does mine but I'll definitely pick up a 1200 manual.

Hi all! It's about time I started a thread on my ute to keep me motivated and to show you's what I've been doing. So I bought My first car a couple months ago which was a 1984 Datsun 1200 ute that I got for $1500 with extras (I'll post a picture of them later). So my plan is to attempt to get my P's by my birthday which is in june and to get my datto on the road.

So here's a list of what ( I think)or what I need to do to get it road worthy'd:
rear brake cylinders
new windshield rubbers
new 1/4 window ventilators and latches
reconnect the heater
wipers don't work haha
horn doesn't always work (bad earth?? I'm horrible with electronics)
needs a new choke cable
and probably a few other things that I can't think of

Optional things would be stuff like surface rust in the tray and other little things here and there.

I would ask him to take it off or you could reach your arm up and underneath the fender and have a feel around to save some time. but then again you can't see whats under there.

Just wanting to see if there's any Members on here who live in Cairns! I've seen a couple 1200's on gumtree and a few 120y's out and about aswell. I'd like to see some activity like cruises and meetings if there's enough buzz here!
