ive been looking into the same swap. the toymods forum has heaps of info on the subject.

from what i have found the RN10-27 2wd lux diff is about 1370mm wide, the RN40 onwards is 1410mm wide. so the RN10-27 seems to be the go, i think they were pre 78 or so(the twin headlight models).

apparently any hilux lsd will go into the housing, splines are the same.

r31 skyline discs go on with a bit of machining and redrilling of the flanges.

i cant link to the page so do a search on toymods forum for 'live rear hilux', heaps of info.

The diffs are from the mk2 Escorts(same model rs2000 had same ratio), I think they ran from about 75 or 76 thru to about 81 in oz. As for cw&p don't know but eskys were made in large number and they rust about as quick as they use fuel so they should be plentiful in every wrecking yard.

Yep according to gregories the 1600 had a 3.77 and the 2000 had a 3.54. Also the 4.1-4.4 from a mk1 cortina will fit but the tailshaft flange is smaller.

I'm pretty sure my old escort had a 3.54 out of a 2litre. Hang on let me check the book.

Hey I like the idea of keeping a Datsun as a Datsun too, but I want a n/a engine with some aftermarket support, makes decent power and revs off it's tits.

Plus i've got a 4ag bigport head waiting for a bottom end and a t50 all looking for an enginebay to climb into.

Ive been workin in melbourne the last couple of days so on the way home ive been doin the tour of wreckers.

What i want to know is :-

1. What is a P411 and will the diff fit a 1200?

2. Will a dogleg option 1 260z box fit a ca20 bellhousing?

3. Is there a difference between Bluebird and Pintara ca20 boxes?

4. Or would a 4age conversion be a better option than a ca18de?

your right about putting the disc over the hub

disc

and the struts are redrilled inboard of the original mounts

modified strut

so possibly do the same mods on a 240k strut.

is it true that 240k use the same calipers as a z?

I'm looking at buying a 1200 coupe and ive been reading through the forums about brake swaps.

ive got a set of blank vt slotted discs and vt twin piston calipers from an aborted 260z project.

my questions are:
will the vt calipers fit the large 180b stuts like the vl turbo calipers do?

is the hub face to caliper mount offset the same as the z (does anyone know the offset for the z, my spare struts are at the machine shop still with the discs)?

is there a strut that z hubs will fit on (spring mounts are no problem)?

thanks in advance Stickman
