Mazda is doing it a different way. From what I understand they run similar high compression ratios and very lean mixtures but inject a second short rich mixture, shot at the spark plug to initiate the ignition process.

There are some clever engineers out there doing things with the combustion engine that weren't even thought of a couple of decades ago. The days of big cubes for big power are over.

What's the point? What's the advantage? Is it a better mouse trap?

Are they really lighter than the SR20DET? Both are alloy, but the VQ has more head bulk, more pistons, more crank, more manifolding, more block etc etc.

I find the current crop of cars mostly ugly. There seems to be an obsession with getting as many creases, folds and contours on the body as possible. They're a mess. And quality brands are doing it too. Some of the current Mercedes models look unresolved to me.

Jordan Cox and Simon's 1200t really kicked butt big time at the Improved Production Nationals over the weekend at Tailem Bend.

Their lap times outright were in the top 3 or so for the meeting! That's against the big guns too. Well done guys, hugely impressive.

I won't say anymore and steal Simon's thunder but looking forward to seeing more of this weapon.
