Don’t know what your budget is, but Shanon Smythe advertises reconditioned dashes on the Datsun 1200 Fan Club Facebook group. About $550 or a little less if you supply dash to recondition. I think he’s in Queensland.

Happy New Year to you. I was only watching your ute run on Youtube the other day. Good luck with the latest engine build, sounds like your still enjoying the ride.

I reckon just wait until you sober up in the new year and you'll have forgotten all about this idea Bob.

One of the radiator shops might be able to recore it.

Not sure if it will help you or confuse matters, but my coil overs on a 200b strut have a 200mm (uncompressed) length. Then there is a 50mm helper spring, to keep the main spring in place on full droop (ie when you jack it up). Coil over kit was from Techno Toy Tuning and was what they recommend for Datsun 1200.

Note: I have yet to install them so can’t really say how good or bad they are yet.

Always something to fix on a Datto, but the good thing is you usually can and it doesn’t involve a laptop.

Anyway, glad to help. I sent you a PM.

One is not much good to me, so it’s yours free as long as I can get it to Zigmondo before he sends your radio.

Just so I know, do you want the crappy speaker with it or just the grille?

I have one only. Do you need a pair or would a single one do?

That’s great news. Tell David we have been missing his wealth of knowledge and wisdom. Hopefully he will be back online soon 👍

So is the replacement Datto a project car or a turn key and drive deal?
