Hi guys, I recently ended a kangaroos life with my Datsun 120y. Does anyone have a bonnet for sale? I'm in Kilmore, Victoria, Australia.

I used the serial number in the Chinese cap in google and browsed images. I found some that were identical looking but were on sites in another language. In one of the photos I saw YD141 on the packaging. So I searched for that and found one in Germany on ebay. Yeah it did say something about Diahatsu Charade S89 and S91.

Okay good news. I took a gamble and purchased a YD141 distributor cap. Its a perfect fit. The downside is it was expensive because the closest one on ebay came from Germany. But still cheaper than buying a whole Chinese dizzy.

So thats it, a YD141 is the cap. Its exactly the same.

Also postage took a while and I was impatient. I got a Accuspark electronic ignition kit off ebay and put it in the original Hitachi dizzy. Its works well.

Thanks for the help chaps.

So an update on this saga. I purchased a GH 617 distributor cap with is also a JP594. It has both numbers on its packet. It doesn't fit. I have contacted a few sellers on ebay who are selling these distributors. No luck yet.

Gday. A few years ago I bit the bullet and bought a Chinese 22100-G5110 electronic distributor in my daily drive 120y with an A12. I have done over 100000km with it and its been no problem. Not bad for a $90 distributor. However the distributor cap is starting to wear out.

Can anyone tell me where to get a new cap? I can't find one anywhere. I've tried emailing the people who sell the distributors to no avail. I have checked ebay and done google searches. I don't want to buy a whole distributor just for a cap. Apparently its a clone of the Mitsubishi 22100-G5110 distributor but I can't figure out the part number for the cap. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi chaps. I'm in Australia and have a stock a12 in a 120y. I bought the chinese Hitachi clone and have had it on my car for about 6 months. Firstly it fitted perfect, no modifications or chock cable issues. Second it ran perfect without the air filter assembly. Once it was all together 100% it runs very good. A #OOPS#e load better than my old flogged carb. The only issue I have is primary low rpm gentle accelerator usage. It has a small hesitation. Enough to annoy me a little bit. Heavy acceleratation its good. If choke is on primary low acceleration is smooth but higher up with secondaries open it hesitates. But other than that it is good. Cost me $90 AUD postage included.

I wanted a big diameter tyre to keep the revs down on the freeway in my a12 120y. My ears were going to fall off in a bloody mess.

I got 14" 200B rims with 165 80 r14. Knocked the revs down almost 1000 but of course the car is slow at take off.

I still regularly look at the forum here, but I'm just emerging from the other end of buying a house and having two kids. Finaly got the finances under control and am starting to spend money on the dattos again. I have a good wife who tolerates and I now have 4 dattos.

But yes, some for sale online are asking crazy prices. Who would buy a 120y for $9000?
