Ive been running carbs on my Datsuns for years.
If i was to bet a dollar on every person that told me you cant run a carb on a KA24D (drop the "E"), I'd be rich.
Twin Weber 38 sync's with a draw through supercharger runing a Chevy 350 distributor. And lets back that up with some Nitrous.
Some would say I have the fastest carbureted Datsuns/Nissan on the planet.
That may not necessarily be true but for my sake, i would hope so.
So many things come into play to make this happen. Fuel delivery, ignition timing, spark plug choice and gap.
Its a science, and in the end, knowing how to read "Spark Plugs' is crucial because a computer is not doing it for you.
I will go through 5 boxes of spark plugs in a single day at the track. 👍
Its taken me years of trial and error and multiple engine rebuilds to get where im at.
750 CFM though a 4 cylinder is very do-able.
I enjoy every second of it. 🙂

Ok. I just texted him and Facebook messaged him.
Next step is to send him a postcard to Hawaii. I have his current address.

Been on vacation for the past 3 weeks.
I am very disappointed with the 4.11 gears.
60 foot times were very similar but top end speeds were the same at 118 mph.
Actual times where slower running 11.70 compared to the 11.40 with the 4.30 gears.
Talked with a friend who said to put the 4.30 gears back in and make the motor work. 👍

New rearend gears are in.
Swapped out the 4.30s for 4.11s. Dropped 800 rpms at 60mph in drive. Will see results this coming Saturday at the track. 👍

Raced Renegade Raceways last Sunday the 5th.
Was a bit disappointed with the track prep or lack of.
No Track Bite was applied in the 60 foot so it was like racing on the streets. Spun the tires on my first run so I backed off the nitrous. Spun the tires on the second run so I again back of the nitrous almost completely and also added a delay so I could get the car moving first. Spun the tires on the third run as well.
First two runs were trials for time so without a good pass I was going into bracketing blindly. Lost on the third run.
No test and tune that day so I loaded the car and headed home.
6 hour drive for three passes. 😃
Time to pull the rear gears and pick up speed on the top end. 👍

Thanks.
Going conservative this year. Spent to much money on a brand new motor. Will try and run it again this weekend and then change out rear gears.
The car was pushing hard to gain speed towards the finish line. Going from 4.30 to 4.11.👍
