i have just finished painting my 1200 coupe and it took maybe two weeks to complete. i found that sand then at least one coat of primer will see u through for a little while. but use all of the one batch of thinners/primer mix otherwise you end up with in consistancies in the priming. you want to get the priming right or can end up having to strip it down again.
now when painting, paint in one go. do the insides of your doors (take them off as well as the guards boot and bonnet)and do the parts you cannot see when the car is all closed up. then put everything back on the car and paint with one batch again otherwise you can end up with different shades of the colour.
there u go i hpe this gives u a bit of an idea

g'day i would just like to tell you about a datsun 1000 that i had the pleasure of riding in today. it scared the crap out of me. it revved to 9500 rpm. it has all the gear twin 45 mm webers, massive cam and get this it has 350 chev (v8) valve springs and 327 chev pushrods. he imports all the parts from america. it needs a rebuild every 10 000k's. not very economical! i will try to get some pics and specs for ya's
have agood one

i have hered and i quote "If you want your 1200 to have some -ve camber (factory spec is +1.5 degrees), just move the lower control arm mounts in the cross member. Redrilling the mounts about 10mm outward from their original position will result in about 0.5 degrees of negative camber." is this true?
