I was looking through the 'historique' photo set above (thanks DD!) and noticed that while the blue 1200 coupe showed up in a lot of the pics, the grey 1200 sedan showed up in several also. Perhaps this car is a refugee from the Portuguese 1200 sedan spec racing series of yore?

The Pau street race certainly looks like a blast, demanding one's complete attention! Put one wheel wrong and it's Armco for lunch.
Rallytwit & OgreInc dream of attending the U.S. version of this in Pittsburgh's Schenley Park, where there's a lot less Armco and a lot more stone walls & trees.
All it will take is a massive GoFundMe effort for race refreshing, cross-continent travel expenses and entry fees.

At today's rate, that equals US$31,591.25! A bit rich for any 1200 enthusiast's blood, I'd imagine. But if it came with a 40' cargo container worth of race spares comprised of unobtainium bits and pieces, along with a spare race-prepped rolling chassis, I might consider it. Awaiting a more detailed spec sheet from the seller - will keep one and all posted on what I find.

I use POR-15 products in areas I can reach with a brush, such as door seams, rocker exteriors, etc. Sets like iron, needs a topcoat if it will be exposed to the sun. (it's not UV resistant) For internal areas such as the inside of rocker panels, the cowl plenum, the underbody frame reinforcements, the engine tub reinforcements and the like, Eastwood's Internal Frame Coating does the trick nicely. The spray comes with a 24" long 180 degree spray nozzle that is fed thru any crevice (or drill your own access hole) then pulled back out while spraying the product. It gets a bit messy when it drools out of cracks that you never before noticed, so wear appropriate clothing and lay down drop cloths or run the risk of looking like a zinc chromate Jackson Pollock work of art.

Here it is on the seller's website:

Say, is that a 1200 sedan race car in the background?
I like this guy!

Same car, different listing:

I wonder what gearbox is stirred by the lovely Ferrari-esque gated shifter?

This looks like a former SCCA racer that found a new home across the pond. It would be interesting to trace the lineage of this one-of-a-kind (in the UK anyway) racer.

Nice spec and decent price point for the entire kit! Don't let Tom (RallyTwit) see this or he will be dreaming rallyes and road racing endlessly!

Despite the detailed description and photo set on CL, I still don't understand why Iam is parting out this very straight looking sedan. Looks like all it needs is to be dipped in an EvapoRust bath and resprayed to be a viable survivor.
