That is the coolest Datto ute ever! Very nicely taken care of and restored. I wonder if it could be rigged for a gooseneck trailer hitch to tow our 3 horse living quarters horse trailer...

Just like most of my Christmas presents this past season. "Batteries not included."

This little guy didn't meet reserve on BaT: USD $5,200 (Reserve Not Met) There are many cool things about this unusual never-made-it-to-the-States model, the thin blade bumpers, the lack of any HVAC, (how did one demist the windscreen on a rainy morning?) but the most interesting bit for me is how the Datsun styling staff actually managed to make all of the rear quarter/side glass bits work together. Every other wagon/panel truck Datsun put out based on a passenger car platform had rear quarters that looked a styling mess, as if the department honchos told the styling staff that they 2,500 yen budget for styling and were told to "just make it happen."

Tom - on my 13-1 A12 I'm using a rebuilt Bosch starter. (non-gear reduction) It cranks just fine. My fabricator added a #2 ground wire from the engine block to a bare metal ground point on the chassis to ensure a decent grounding circuit, which is quite important for a starter ground.

I just noticed that this orphan seems to have the official size and weight Datsun tach in the instrument binnacle. That's pretty rare and quite unusual for the pedestrian sedan version of the 1200.

Pranged front end, A14, auto trans: https://sacramento.craigslist.org/bar/ ... or-datsun/6724949359.htmlCool instrument panel; if only he had bagged a carbon fibre dash assembly while the i.p. was being done, I think everyone on the 1200.com site would have bought one!
