I had the same thing happen to a 5.0 Mustang. Go around a left turn too hard and it would cut out.
Found out it was a short in the wire loom, but would only happen when it was pushed to the right (the loom).
I'd get it running and start jiggling the wires and see if ya can't get it to die or cut out.
Aslo FEEL the wires along they're lenght, if they feel real soft, the wire may be burned away inside. I've had that problem before too.

IDK. Just couldn't figure why a 300lb motor would handle better than a 300lb motor.
The crank center line of my v8 will be aboutl 4" above the stock cross member. It will be moved/changed to allow for the oil pan.
I understan that if ya put 300lb over top of the hood, it would make a really big difference, but if you only add a 100lbs or so to the the car, how could that make the handle so badly? Just had a friend take a ride with me, he weighs 240, ( he's got a 84 RX7 with a 302 Ford, Alum heads) the car seamed handle about the same. I know the pasaenger is well be hind the front wheels and in the center of the car ( for/aft)
IDK.
Someone said I've have to rework the whole front suspension with the weigh of a all Alum v8, but not with the rot, cuz it's so lite weight.
IDK, guess people think a v8 is too heavy even when they're not.

I checked into it, cuz everyone was telling me..Put a 13b in it!
A 13b ready to run is just over 300 lbs.
Tubro is 340lb and high cg ( crank and flywheel set high in the bay).
And they are something like 175hp?, with a carb, so I guess my 300lb v8 with a lower cg and 180-200hp is just about right?, and the T5 box weighs just a little bit more than a Datsun 5spd.
Just trying to figure out why my 1200 would handle so badly with a 300lb 200hp v8 ?, rather then a 300lb 200 hp 13b?
The way everyone was talking, I thought the13b would have been about 175-200lb?
It is eazier to get more power from a rot but the mpg sucks. Guess I could bolt a B&M blower to the top my v8 it a and make an extra 50hp or so, just don't think it would need it. At least not for the first stage.
Should see the size of the hole ya have to cut in the floor to fit the 13b trany, wow!

I got mine for 500$ US, thought that was a good deal.
Also got two truck loads of spairs, mostly extra wheels, but well worth it.

I replaced the old cork gasket with a new paper one, it's much thinner and wont swell up when it gets fuel on it. It needs to swell up to seal, so I took it off and made one out of good cork material I found at work. All the holes are correct and matches really good.
Didn't think about the venting.
I would think it would vent through the little rubber thingie around the top pump shaft, but maybe I've something wrong.
Thanks.
I'll go check it when it worms up outside....LOL

OK, I've done everything I can think of, now I have to ask.
I have a stock carb on my A12 and I can't get the accelerator pump to work.
The things I've replaced;
New pump, new check valve needle, new top gasket.
Things I've checked; check ball, pump walls for scratches or pits, check ball seat for pits and corrosion.

If I take the pump arm off and pump it a few times by hand, it will work and the car runs great. It will continue to work till I let it set for awhile. I try it again later and no pump shot. I pull the air cleaner top and pump the linkage by hand, I can see there is no fuel coming out the sprayer.
If I pull the top of the carb off and pump the accel slowly I can sometimes see the fuel moving back and forth in the bowl, then after a few times it strats working.
If I hold down the needle valve so the fuel can't go through to the sprayer, the pump wont go down, that tells me the chack ball is sealing in it's seat.
I've checked and cleaned verything I can think of and it still wont hold a charge.
Is this a typiacl issue with the stock carb?
I'm at my wits end.
P.S. I've fixed all the vac leaks. It runs good and pulss fine, after ya get it moving. I even tried pushing the gas peddle down slowly and lifting it quick to help suck some fuel up into the pump chamber before I try to start it. When it does work, I car put the peddle to the floor and it revs clean, no bog or hesitation, if the pump isn't working, it wont rev without a big hesitation and sometimes dies.
So?, any suggestions?
Oh yea, good morning to all.
