Well it’s with a real sad face that I have to sell the datto sedan

Bad news came today that I have to raise 6K for braces for my 11 year old grand daughter
Bank won’t help nor will her mum or dad, so it’s time to sell the bike and car, which really annoys the F$#K out of me,
I have thought about this the past couple of days because I really don’t want to sell her but my 11 years old teeth are more important to me than a car.
I haven’t stripped her yet so she is complete, except the carpet.

White, with a little rust, only a couple of spots on the bottom of two doors.

Got some parts to go with her, but she will need carpet again.
Everything works as she went over the pits nearly two years ago, but there is a small leak on the motor and small leak on the auto tranny, I have the head and rocket cover gaskets here to do it.

I’ve undone the battery because I haven’t driven her for a couple of weeks.

My dad tells me ill either kill or cure the Datsun!

Picked up a rocket cover and head gasket from Coventrys today for $45

Went to stupid cheap and they quoted me $6 for the rocket cover gasket, kid was very vague so I walked away from that one

Guys at covs were great, heaps of info and I brought a tool

And i got myself a 1/2 inch drive tongue wrench, I know I could of hired or borrowed someone's but I have access to a mountain of tools here anyway so another one isn't going to hurt,

This car is my project, I've had six other Datsuns in my lifetime but always had a bloke to help me redo it, this time it's just me doing it,

I have a Toyota as my daily driver but plan to offload that when the datto is finished, I have decided it has to be finished before 13 September next year,

Sometimes I think I ask some silly questions but I would rather ask than go ahead and do something that is plain stupid or something that is expensive to fix

Top Over All Head Gasket Kit

Car is: 1971 Datsun Sedan. Car motor is stock from dealer and been told its a A12, did they come stock from the dealer as a A12 & where do I look on the motor for this info?

The 71 Datsun 1200 has an engine leak
Leaks between head and block between 2 and 3 spark plugs
Also has a small tranny leak on the auto box

Can anyone recommend a mechanic not that far from Dianella
I can drive it but I have stripped the interior seats out and will have to bolt the drivers seat in again

Don't want anyone that wrings their hands together in glee when a woman walks in not knowing exactly what needs fixing, been told head is fine because radiator is clear and oil isn't milky was told just may need gasket

Also have a full set of Tyres and rims off the Datsun 1200 going to anyone that picks them up
Rims a little rusty but Tyres still have a lot of meat on them, been in shed used as spider homes for a while, want shed back

I have taken a photo of the engine leak on my phone and can text it to anyone hat can recommend someone to fix it

What high backed front seats will slip into the datto sedan without doing any mods?

I think the low back front seats aren't that good, even though the ones I have here are in great nick I want high backs,

Also would like seats that you can adjust the back
