That's exactly how I measured them. I haven't measured piston to bore clearance yet as I don't have a dial bore gauge. They seem O.K to me, but I wasn't sure if the specification still applied if they weren't factory pistons and piston rings, and overbored at that.

Just wondering if anyone can offer any insight as to whether my piston ring gap, and main bearing clearance is "acceptable".
It's a 1.00mm/0.030" overbored A14, with matched appropriate pistons, piston rings and bearings. I have measured 0.025mm for the first main bearing, and according to my Datsun B210 A14 manual on my phone, 0.025mm is the minimum. But I have also read on here, and somewhere else I can't recall, that 0.020mm is the minimum? Just want to make sure it's within an acceptable range.

Top/first piston ring gap from cyl. 1-4 in thou is 13, 14, 14, 15. Second ring gap measured at 16, 15, 16, 17.
This would seem to be out of specification, though I have a friend in Japan with a rebuilt standard-bore A15, with genuine pistons and piston rings, who has similar measurements - cyl. 4 also having more clearance.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you miss the Clunkers meet? I talk to a Japanese bloke who lives in Tokyo, and he is the owner of a Sunny Truck. There are A LOT of 1200s over there, and a lot of variation between them.

The easiest way to obtain them would be genuine, I assume. I'm guessing you have an A14? You can search "push rod" in the wiki and find the part number. I had to order two myself, and I used www.amayama.com. I'm not sure if you being in the U.S would make a difference.

So I checked it out, and my situation is much the same as the above photo. I would attach a photo if I knew how.. Haha. Also, i'm almost certain my wiper motor did not have a washer/bushing on the bottom shaft of the armature, or in the permanent magnet housing.

I came across replacement brushes with the wire shunt, but they are 13.4mm long. I would think you could file them down if need be, but I was hoping someone would know. How would you determine if they need replacing? Or should I just leave them be. The wipers still worked, so..

Can anyone tell me what size the wiper motor brushes should be? I've measured 4.90x4.90 on all three, two are 10.90 long, the other is ~10.40.

Don't know if Pitroad deal with many people outside of Japan though.

I just finished painting my dash pad. It looks pretty good, but the sun damage and raised areas from the cracking are still visible to a degree.
