june update got some kenda tyres to suit the wheels , got a few engine parts painted then a few days later picked up a A12 motor and it has a datsun rocker cover , kinda prefer that over the nissan one , anyway maybe later ill get that painted too new clutch , radiator ,fender mirrors and a heap of engine parts for the A14 build . hopefully have the ute back on the road for summer :)
little bit of an update managed to score an old workshop manual, painting the block turned into stripping the block down and sending it off to the machine shop after finding some issues. pretty happy i found a set of wheels for the ute, just gotta find some low profile tyres now. waiting on a heap of part from Datsun parts shop , NZ datsun parts , about time spares and Ebay currently chasing a dogleg 5 speed gear knob , stainless steel weather shields , bullet fender mirrors , a14/15 head bolts and a complete weber manifold setup
Cheers guys I managed to get most of the parts online and some local, I picked up some GX carbs that match my manifold , still unsure if I’ll run em tho kinda keen on EFI or a Sidedraft Webber setup
managed to score an A14 and 5speed over the weekend :) the A14 is apparently bored out, head looks brand new , pistons, rods and crank all look brand new / freshly machined. so hopefully its all good, kinda weird it didnt have a timing chain. so i have a fair list of parts to find to get it complete , if anyone local has the following parts hit me up :) 1. Tailshaft 2.Rocker arm bolts 3. Carbies to suit the mani 4. Sandwich plate , flywheel and clutch 5. Gearbox crossmember 6. Oil pump bolts 7. Front timing cover bolts 8. alt bracket and alternator 9. Radiator will most likely buy clutch n rad brand new but u never know what unfinished projects are around
