I did this conversion using the drum strut and hub halfway through last year. The s13 disk slips over he drum hub perfectly. This conversion leaves you with basically stock track width. But to make the caliper mounts is alot more pissing around with spacers etc. If I were you I would just machine the disk a lil bigger so it fits over the disk hub. Im a big fan of modfying things to fit the car rather than modifying the car to fit the things.

I shaved the handles off mine and custom fitted a latching system from a 88ish hilux. I used a chrome handle mounted on the inside panel and it works and looks mint. I can post pics and a basic how to if ppl want.

tbh its fairly self explantory. the pic up is at the front. there is a hole through the chassis rail for the breather tube and then into the side panel. the filler hose just goes straight through the side panel and up. I dont have any diagrams but I can do a quick paint drawing if needed....

I was watching African Odyssey last night, which is a bunch of mates from whakatane that ride motorbikes across africa and one of the opening scenes is shot in the tray of a 1200 ute.

If you can do the machining yourself then you might want to look at how I have done my setup. I used the drum struts so you end up with bigger stub axles and only 2.5mm track increase either side

Just take a tee off the oil sender line to get your oil feed for the turbo and then get a fitting welded into your sump for oil return

This thread has some good info

Turbo a12

edit: I dont think an oil cooler is necessary. you can run one if you want. It is just another thing that you have to buy.

Have fun and keep us updated with the progress if you do go ahead with it.

As long as you have a correctly sized turbo, response shouldnt be too bad which ever way you go. As for the dump valve for the amount of boost you are going to be running it wont really be an issue, I have heard in VERY high boost applications that it can shear blades off the compressor wheel with compresssor surge but this is only for huge horsepwoer motors running ludicris boost levels.

The vacuum shouldnt be great enough to lose a significant amount of oil. The only time it could be is when the turbo is making full boost and you close the throttle to change gear. This would be the period of max vacuum but it will be so short that it wont starve the turbo. at idle the turbo wouldnt be creating enough vacuum for this to be a problem.
