I got the 71c out of a z series Navara 2wd.i brought the sr20 as a package with a s14 gearbox but as we have found on some threads it is too long and the shifter is too far back in the tunnel.the bell housing on the s14 gearbox is obviously correct as it is already bolted up but the bell housing on the Navara box is different. Will these separate and match up or would we need to get the Navara bell housing modified?measured the two bell housings and the lengths are the same, the rear part of the box is shorter on the 71c which give me the correct length for the gear stick to come into the cab.

Any help is appreciated. :)

Hi Guys,

I have recently purchased a 71c gearbox to bolt onto the back of an SR20DET. The spline is a 24 teeth OD 1" and for all intensive purposes it looks as though it will bolt straight onto the back of the SR20 bell housing.

Was wondering if anyone has done this before and encountered any problems, whether redrilling or adapter plates are required?

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry guys, whats the difference between a 63a and a 71 series? Is it gear ratios or something like that? A lot of people have told me to go the stumpy due to the length and where the gear stick comes up. What gearbox would you guys suggest for this conversion? Any help would really be appreciated.

Hi Guys,

Looking to buy a Stumpy gearbox for a SR20DET 1200 ute project. Preferably in South Australia. Needs to be in good working order.

There are a couple available from Wreckers within SA however I wanted to put it out on the forum and see whether anyone has one laying around that they are keen to get rid of.

Cheers

Adam
