The way I read the article, I think they are more saying that's the percentage of people who think the subject in question would reduce the value of a property, but still, they are a bunch of fcuking idiots. That smacks of scaremongering and desperation to get people to lower property values so that they can do more business...

Here is a direct quote from that site, and the percentages they are referring to there are percentages of the value supposedly lost, not percentages of respondents.

"The findings reveal living next door to an abandoned rust bucket could adversely affect house prices. Real estate agents agree, with one in five indicating an abandoned car could cull up to 50% off a property price, while one in ten thought a truck would shave off to 20%."

How many of these real estate agents who are commentating on such things actually understand what is happening to the property market?
How many real estate agents actually own the less than 3 year old sedan they are driving?
Real estate people in general are least money minded profession that i've encountered in business.
I had an agent the other week mention that he "owned" 7 properties, and then in the next sentence said that he couldn't get finance to make a 50K margin call. In short of the 7 properties he didn't have enough equity in them for any bank to lend him the money. He'll be bankrupt in less than 6 months i reckon. Like most real estate agents will be or have been.
They are a bunch of clowns and you should pay next to no attention to what they say. Just use them for what they are there for.
My rant over.
Rhys.

Exactly, finally someone on this forum has some common sense.
#### me some stupid #### gets written on this forum.

The 20year old datsun part made me chuckle. Same with the percentages and specific model vehicles mentioned.
This is the only important part in that article;
