VT Commodore brakes

I'm looking at buying a 1200 coupe and ive been reading through the forums about brake swaps.

ive got a set of blank vt slotted discs and vt twin piston calipers from an aborted 260z project.

my questions are:
will the vt calipers fit the large 180b stuts like the vl turbo calipers do?

is the hub face to caliper mount offset the same as the z (does anyone know the offset for the z, my spare struts are at the machine shop still with the discs)?

is there a strut that z hubs will fit on (spring mounts are no problem)?

thanks in advance Stickman

The bolt centres on the VT caliper is the same as the VLT so they will bolt to the strut.
However the VLT disc is 290mm and the disc used with this conversion is 276mm. So by that theory to use the VT caliper which takes a disc of 296mm you would want a disc of approx 280mm x 28mm thick to suit the caliper. Might be hard to find in the right offset.
Possible to fit the disc over the top instead of bolting in from behind thus using the VT disc you already have.......but I doubt it.
Sounds like measuring stick time.

your right about putting the disc over the hub

disc

and the struts are redrilled inboard of the original mounts

modified strut

so possibly do the same mods on a 240k strut.

is it true that 240k use the same calipers as a z?
