does anyone know if you can put the twin cam head from a CA18 DET on a CA20
like the RB series engines

Only way u would make a CA20DET is a bored CA18 Block with oversive pistons...

The ca18det head wont fit ca20 block.

I think you'll find it does go on..But would you build your house on a garbage dump? NO!
The CA20 block is built with a completely different application in mind. There is no block webbing, the conrods are rubbish, and simply put it wouldn't last ten minutes with a good dose of boost.

If you must, get a custom stroked crank and conrods from Tomei.

As for using the CA20 block, by all means try it. But I don't enjoy seeing mates throw away money.

I think when you first joined this site, you asked about engine options. Unless you have free mechanic service and dirt cheap access to parts..don't bother yourself with trying to invent anything. Get a good engine in (CA18DET) and start enjoying it. If you don't enjoy a CA18DET in a 1200 or Sunny, then chances are you need a whole lot more power, and a whole lot more money.

Dreams are great..but reality is so much more fun.

i dont think i've ever asked about engine options,
dont get me wrong, i was only asking out of curiousity, i've got a good engine
didnt know the ca 20 was that weak
