It's just running elec dizzy (volvo)/ nissan ignition module / bosch coil ATM, but I want to upgrade ingnition system for turbo set up.

Cheers,

make trigger wheel or drill flywheel for magnets
must be indexed accurately
buy 4 coils
throw dissy in bin

trigger wheel? off crank?
what do you mean by drilling flywheel?

if you fit magnets to the flywheel you just drill a hole in the right spot (ie: TDC ) and press in a magnet as per holden black 6 cyl.
number of magnets required depends on what signal ecu wants ,usually half the no of cyls

pick up disc on the balancer is easier but is more exposed
if you need to adjust sensor position maybe better on the front (some computers want TDC position, some want initial timing )

you could use a dissy for a signal

dont you need to use a cam angle sensor for 4 coils, assuming its not wasted spark(which is technically 2 coils)
as the computer wouldnt know which of the 2 engine rotations its on so wouldnt for example know if its supposed to fire cylinder 1 or cylinder 4. as they are both at top dead centre at the same time
with wasted spark it doesnt matter as it sparks in both 1 and 4 or 2 and 3 at the same time

way im thinking of doing it, when i do quad throttle injection on the L series, is a cam angle sensor grafted onto the top of the dizzy. so its taking the place of the dizzy cap

i could be wrong here, but i just dont see how the computer knows which turn its on with a crank angle sensor or the magnets on the flywheel

I was thinking a wasted spark system. been looking a the wolf3d manual and it is making more sense.

your right pigdog
the way i was describing you would still need the cap and rotor to point the spark
could use 2 triggers one for tdc ,one for tdc #1
or one for each wasted spark coil
there is a million ways to do it but you need to find the easiest and most reliable setup and one that your particular ecu will work with

I use a wolf 3D in my rally car, you can just use the dissy i do. if your dissy outputs 2 or 4 pulses per engine rev then you cannot run multi coils but if you have 3 or 5 then you can(dual pulse, extra pulse after first one).
