Borg Warner 68 series.

All happy I managed to find two Borg Warner 68 series diff's today, one from an Escort with 4.1 ratio and one from a Stanza with 3.7.
Strip them, Stanza is rusted beyond usage, escort isnt to bad but both have enclosed spiders making the Posi style LSD insert impossible. Well so much for that idea...

That stanza diff is unusable.
We stripped the spiders on the escort a while ago, what a pain in the arse to get to the gears. Rezlo so the question being, will something like n phantom grip be possible in one of these diffs. The other question I still have, is the diffs in England the same as the ones in RSA, the reason for asking this, Quaife does a insert for the escort diffs, crap expensive, but the real question is, will it fit in our SA diffs.

No, british diff is front access as with the H series datsun diff's. does not work/fit in our borg warners.
I highly doubt one will be able to fit a posi setup (phantom grip) into the BW with closed center as above

At the end of the day, it just gets worse for us in RSA

What the bunch of us in RSA should do is keep our ears on the ground and find a strong diff that doesn't need shorting to fit the ute's and 1200's and a local lsd inserts is available. Then we just need to safe our money and buy these units.
But then again, easier said than done. Rezlo thanks for the research on these diff units, much appreciated, know we all are in the loop.

Finding an alfa diff is the problem, and when you do either they want $1000US+ or its stuffed, usualy the later.

after all this it might be easier just shortening an M75 out of a venture, it has a clutch LSD

I'm looking for specs on these M75 units, but no luck yet.
I emailed a company in Joburg that can supply them, but the answered everything besides what is the dimensions. The reason I want it, is it really necessary to shorten it? You can view topic.
