I BOUGHT THE CAR FOR MY NEPHEW AS A GRAD PRES.BUT MY SISTER SAYS 'NO WAY,THAT CAR IS TO MUCH FOR HIM SO IT HAS TO GO'.THE STORY GOES IT WAS A NEIGHBORS CAR FOR MANY YEARS WHEN THEY GOT OLD, THE SON SOLD IT TO SOME GUY WHO I GOT IT FROM.THEY WANTED TO HAVE A FAST STREET CAR SO THEY CALL THEMSELVES CUSTOMIZING IT.THEY CHANGED THE ENGINE TO THE MAZDA ,IT HAS A HEADER,GOOD IGNITION,ELECTRIC FAN,ALL ELSE APPEARS STOCK.THE MOTER WAS BUILT SUPPOSDLEY BUY A REPUTABLE MAZDA GUY.I DO KNOW THAT IT RUNS GOOD,STARTS EVERYTIME AND DOES NOT SMOKE.THE ONE PROBLEM I SEE IS WITH THE RADIATOR, IT HAS BEEN BEAT TO HELL AND DOES NOT FLOW ENOUGH AIR SO AFTER ABOUT 10 MINS. IT WILL START TO LOSE POWER IN TYPICAL MAZDA FASHION BUT ALL YOU NEED IS THE NEW RADIATOR AND IT IS FIXED.I HAVE NEVER RAN IT HOT SO NO ENGINE DAMAGE.I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED WITH OLD CARS AS A HOBBY FOR 25 YEARS .THEY REMOVED THE HEATER FROM UNDER DASH AND PUT A DIFF. GAS TANK IN THE REAR HATCH AREA.ALSO SOME FUNKY RED SPRAY CAN INTERIOR COLORS.THE BLACK INTERIOR IS ORIGNAL.IT LOOKS O.K. THEY CUT THE TRANS HUMP TO FIT THE 5 SPD. TRANS AND COVER WITH SHEET METAL.AMATURE WORK BUT OK.NEEDS WEATHERSRRIPING DASH IS CRACKED NO CARPET ETC. BUT ALL SMALL STUFF.BODY HAS SOME DINGS AND DENTS BUT NOTHING SERIOUS.DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN IN ANY MALOR WRECKS.I BELIEVE THE CAR COULD BE PUT BACK TO ORIG.IF WANTED TO.NO BACK BUMPER.ORIG.COLOR IS YELLOWISH/ORANGE WITH FACTORY STRIPES THAT ARE STILL THERE UNDER PRIMER FOR REF.ALSO THEY CUT NEW HOLE FOR GAS FILLER.CAR HAS LITTLE RUST BUT NOT IN ANY BAD PLACES,EASY FIXES.SEE PHOTOS.FRONT FENDER AND GOLF BALL SIZE HOLE UNDER CAR.NOTHING SERIOUS.GLASS IS VERY GOOD.THE WIRES LOOK FUNKY BUT EVERYTHING WORKS EVEN TURN SIGNAL.WINDSHILD WIPERS.ANY QUESTIONS YOU CAN EMAIL.

Welcome to america. No safety inspections.

On the other hand, a running rotary 1200 for $300? Might be worth it, if you can fix up the rough parts ...

Bidding stopped at $405 USD. I would have thought a running rotary setup alone worth more than that.
