Maybe the 18 DET engine with turbo?Which one is the lightest and easiest mod.

i'd go the ca route, easy to get parts, has been done before so a good knowledge base, and easy to get parts.

Nah bugger that...... Be original!!!!

Go the 13bt!!! Would absolutely haul ass. Would be an absolute bugger to fit, and if your in oz would never get registered but hey, you asked what would be the best and the rotor would #### all over the other ideas.

Seriously though if your looking for the quickest, most haul ass conversion then 13bt, if your looking for something different and still very quick and fun then go 4age or 4agze, but if you want something that's more practical, easy to fit, and with parts readily availabale yet still a weapon you can't go past a CA18DET.

@SAChamp
First things first. Where do you live?
With the SA and the word Champ I can presume it's South Africa.

To all the other members. We in South Africa have something you guys don't.
OUR LAWS DON"T RESTRICKED US TO A SPECIFIC ENGINE SIZE!!
Heeeeee haaaaaaa.
That means we can put ANYTHING we want into it.
I know a guy with a 2.2 litre turbo bakkie.
270Kw and 500Nm at the wheels.
Road legal even with the pathetic standard bakkie brakes. He luckily upgraded the brakes after he bought the bakkie from the guys who did the engine conversion.

What is your plan with the GX motor? I am keen on some of the parts on the engine.
Please PM me.
Thanks.

Oh yeah, very perceptive of you GXman.

In that case go 13bt. Ive always loved boosted rotors in any type of car. Nothing like them in my opinion.

Boost up and fly!!!

I was one night at a illegal drag meeting here where I live. We saw a 1400 bakkie with a 13B turbo in it. I was really really scared of that thing. It just does'nt get traction in 1st and second gear. And it is all over the place in 1st and second gear.It almost took out the other guy it was going against. Went to talk to the guy. Stock standard 13Bt.
Just imagine with more boost.

I just can't say enough how scared I was just looking at that thing go. It is just something that you will kill yourself in.

Yeah you would have to have a seriously strong back end to hold the power. There are quite a few drag cars here in oz with rotors. I've never seen one in a sedan before though, only in drag utes and coupes with tubbed rear ends and serious rubber ie rigoli's.

I know what you mean about being scared of them, even in mazda rx's some of the power they get out of the rotor engines is just ridiculous. I love the sound of them boosting up though and then just unleashing! Nothing like it in my opinion.
