hey all im 16 n on ma L s i got a dato 1200 ute with a stock a12 so cant have any thing turbo or supercharged im lookin to change ma engine was just wondering wot uz think i should get ppl have told me to get a 4AGE enigne but i dont no wot to put so can uz tell me wot u think n how much will cost to change engine n gear box n how much to get Engineered

have you thought about putting an a14 or an a15 in it? i dont think you have to get it mod plated.. not sure how much it costs though.... and then later on you could turbo or supercharge it....
that would be a cheaper idea than getting a 4AGE or something like that..
or save you money, keep the a12, and get a CA conversion later...

i agree go the a14 or a15 would be the best ,i think. so are you in qld vic hasnt got that law in yet as far as i know

Why not start out with a worked a15? plenty of power to get into trouble with and wont cost heaps to convert. If you must have a import type motor, i would suggest going for the ca18de. Then it will be easy to upgrade to a ca18det when you are ready for more power.

have a look around in the classifieds on here...
does anyone know whether you have to get an a14 or a15 engineered? i dont have any mod plates or anything for mine, so im thinkin you might not have to...

i bought my ute with the a15 in it...
but i paid a good $7 500 for it...
