I've found a 5 speed gearbox for sale, has to be shipped to me so cant see in person. Has been behind a datsun 1200 engine, but in a daihatsu 4wd project that was abandoned before it was finished. My question...finally is there's a 56 on the side of it apparently, but they're in seperate circles. No mention of any other numbers or letters. Anyone seen this before on a 56 box?? thanks

I can say that the B210 GX five speed has '56A' cast on the side, but I have never seen an original Datsun 1200 GX five speed box, but the 1200 four speeds were 56 series boxes [without the 'A'] The B210 models shared the same trans case with the 4 & 5 speed, so perhaps this five speed is actually one of the 1200 boxes.
