Hi All - My first post on these forums But i have been reading them for a couple of weeks now.

Im interested in buying a Datsun 1200 ute for a project car & just want to get some feedback on the one im looking at on eBay & a rough price of what you think its worth. I have emailed the seller asking for some High Res Photos also so i can get a better look at it. Also is it a Genuine Bonnet, Been looking at Wiki and found one that looks similar - GX Bonnet Link. My old man sold his last ute about 2years ago for $2500 and it was in immaculate condition & i told him he was ripping him self off but he needed the $$ (Would of Bought it if i had the Cash)
Heres the eBay Link to the one im interested in.

Way too dear for that !
I know the search can be frustrating but keep looking.
I recently spent months looking for a ute and all the ones I looked at in Sydney for under $5k were rusted out crap, go over this though and there are usually a fair few to choose from.
Just make sure you inspect first, believe me they can look good in the photo's but be S**T when you get there.

Cost of running 2 cars??? WTF! My 1200 ute is the cheapest car to run I,ve ever owned!! And it,s got a Webber on it {and I drive it reasonably hard}

The real value of the car is in the body shell, so if it's rust free & dead straight, it will be worth a premium, but like the others have said, $7.500 is a bit rich.
I wonder what his reserve is.

Yes, it has a facelift bonnet. They were used on Sunny 1200 GL & GX models from about mid 1972 onward & if it's a good one, then it would probably figure anywhere from $400 to perhaps $700 in the overall value of the Ute as they are both popular & difficult to source.
