1200 ute first car, need help

I am 17 new to cars, espessially datsun, was given 1200 ute as my first car. it has a 120y reconditioned motor and wanted to know what i could do to enhance the performance/power in my little new baby.

and just to let you know again, i dont no much, just want my car to be good ####

For some cheap bolt on power, add a 32/36 downdraught weber carby and also enhance
the exhaust system with a set of extractors and a 2 inch system right through.
Anything more, then you would have to start with internal motor work. ie shaved head oversize bore, bigger valves etc.
Hope you have many years of fun Datsun motoring.
The A series datsun motors such as in your 1200 respond well to these modifications.

welcome to the club, i would recomend using the search button and also have a look at the tech section it has heaps of info on small and large upgrades. you should post a picture or 2.

Welcome,put some extractors and a 2" system on it(not too loud,it will give you the sh*:s after a while)leave the standard carb on but get yourself a Pertronics distributer module and coil to suit and you can ditch the points forever and pick up several H.P.in the process and improve economy as well.

hey yer, thx man, hey i was wondering, how much would it cost to buy a 2" exhaust system with extractors?

and were would i get em? maddat.com, or some site like that?

youll have to go to your local exhaust shop extractors will cost about150 new and the exhaust should cost about 150
