Yes - the A14 fired today. First time i've heard the A14 in over a year!! Sounded sweet aswell!! Just got it up to operating temp to let some things settle in. Needs a few tweaks and twiddles yet. But well on the way. I have to do a complete overhaul of the brake system now aswell - add a booster for 4spots etc. Handbrake is hooked up but doesnt work - new rear calipers and discs on the agenda. And pay somebody to set the brakes up (im completly dodgy mechanic i figured out) as this is one area i really dont want to fail..

Apart from that - pretty much everything else is done. Only took me 7 years!! I give it another year for rego. Nah - less - the engine starting was a bit of motivation!! Just have to spend more money on it - another couple grand should do it.. Ouch..

Davo its good to hear you will still put the coupe on the road. I was one of the first members to follow your progress. Wasn't that engine purchased from Andrews race car?

Yeah man thats the one - im sure only the original members would remember Andrews A14. Kinda wish i had more time and money and had this going years ago - but thats the way things are. At least i've never given up hope - i allways knew i would get the datsun back to a drivable standard one day. Just didnt realize it would take me so long!! Cant wait to drive this thing!!! wooott!!!!

Yeah she's not a bad little engine. I've toned it down a little since those days - just a little less compression with the alloy pistons to run it on street fuel. The rest is still the same engine - head is nuts. Cam is huge. 2 Webers. Electronic Dizzy.

Cant wait!!

Good on you, 7 years is a long time building something, your smile is only going to grow when those webers open up and make that lovely noise!
