Howdy fellas.

A couple of months ago I was driving my friend home and my ballast resistor burnt out (didn't know it at the time).
But anyways called the RAC roadside assistance and he diagnosed the problem, and we went to Auto One for a new ballast resistor.

The thing is that they didn't really know what rating one to get, so we kinda just guessed and picked one.

I was just wondering what rating ones you guys use, just so i can make sure I'm using the right one, and if not, replace it.

Cheers !

Just take it out. Get a non Balast resist coil and just join the 2 resister wires together, thats all thats needed!

If you have standard points distributor, you need the ballast resistor. It will work for a while without it (jump wire both terminals) but will burn the points out relatively quick.

Probably most kinds of resistor will work.
