Yes, there is no "A14GX" -- never was, there was only A12GX. There was an A14T (Twin carb) engine.

"Facelift" is called "1972 minor change" in the Nissan literature. It applied to Standard, Deluxe, GL and GX models.

To be honest, I am more than just a little bit sick of hearing the term GX being thrown around. Point and case here. I may be wrong, It may very well be an A14Gx motor but the head looks a little bit on the standard size to me.

I'm not taking the piss on old mate trying to sell his product as he was probably told this or that by someone else, but the bullsh1t all starts somewhere!

Once again I'm probably jumping the gun and shooting my mouth off for no reason??
As Ddgonzal said, there is no true "GX" engine, but there was an A14T. This seems to have used the basic A14 head but was equiped with dual valve springs & was fitted with the twin carbs.
The engine in this link does not seem to be one of these.
I do not know if these engines were fitted to a GX branded car model in the same way as the 1974 to 76[?] A12T engine was fitted to a GX model of the B210 chassis.

If there is a difference in the front guards of a 1200GX then it will be in the position &/or shape of the mounting hole for the unique-to-GX mirrors & even then, only in the JDM version, otherwise they are exactly the same as all other 1200 guards.

The GX bonnet, again as Ddgonzal wrote, is a myth. The facelift version was most certainly used on the GL & GX models, but I don't know about the Standard & DeLuxe versions as I have yet to see a factory image of these lesser models.
The GL outsold the GX by a very wide margin, yet nobody calls it a GL hood/bonnet.
I never could understand that logic.

EDIT, I have a pre-loved 1200GX-5 coupe rear window glass for sale at only three times the price of regular coupe rear windows.
Buy now & avoid the rush.
