thanks, is it safe, the distance from groove to top is 6mm so if i cut 2.3m left only 3.7mm. is it possible it will crack? thanks

I have not had a failure, but anything is possible.A better alternative is to get the high comp A14 pistons(they have a smaller dish) and take some off the top, which still leaves plenty of meat thru the crown.

buy the right parts up front and save yourself the grief
you are also moving the ring pack up the piston where its hotter

Good advice. The ring land above the top ring is not particularly thick at the best of times & you are weakening it in the area where it can least afford to be weakened.
Any detonation & you could so easily be shopping for some more pistons.

I think i know where teflon is coming from.
If the parts he wanted where available(other than being specially made at around a quoted price of 2 grand)he and myself along with two other motors i know of would have jumped at the prospect.

No matter what you do with these undersize engines(see motor sport classes)they all require lots of expensive machining and thoughts outside the square.

hi guys,i'm coming from malaysia (the same country where teflon coming from )..and thanks to him for asking this question..actually i'm the one who doing this 'project'..i'm decking my block 2.3mm and shaving my top (crown) piston 2.3mm,and right now i'm in a bit skepticism about the thickness of gasket that should i use and etc..so please help me

can i use the stock gasket?the thickness is about +-1mm..

**about the piston, yes its very2 expensive to bring it to malaysia..we can buy at least 5 A14's engine for the same price for Tomei piston..so i guess b4 reboring the block this step is a big experiment for us,quite trial and error
