i noticed an add. for a series 3 bluebird with CA20 engine number...

when i inquired the female owner told me it was a 4spd manual...

i didnt know the ca20 came with a 4spd? if this is correct would the bell housing still be suitable for use with an r30 5spd for a ca conversion?

You can use a CA18DET (S13 silvia) bellhousing witht eh MR30 stumpy 5speed manual, the stumpy box and the CA bellhousong mate and bolt up perfectly. I just did it.
Cheers

There were front wheel drive bluebirds with orible singlecam CA20's in em... I doubt that a bellhousing off one of these will work. Is the series III FWD?
There's at least two different size selector rails in the 71 series boxes, the 3 holes in the front where these slide may give you grief...
There's also a couple of starter motor combinations for CA's...
I'd find a S13 box methinks...
