just wanting some opinions on pro's and cons of the above carbs. I've found a set of gx carbs on an oval port manifold with linkages which should fit my a15 nicely, are rebuild kits still available if needed in the future?? how smoothly do they run in comparison with webers/dellorto's?? have had a look in the wiki but would like to hear people's opinions who have tried them (these hitachi's are even more rare in NZ than Aussie!!) cheers

good work, thanks for that mate. Sounds from that thread that the hitachi's would suit my engine better for what i want (mild performance on street, cam, extractors, exhaust and elec ignition main mods). Are parts/rebuild kits real hard to get

Those are not GX carbs - they are A14T (twin carb) units.

The GX setup has far bigger oval ports, along with dome-top carbs with a traditional two-bolt carb flange.

The A14T carbs are equivalent in performance to the GX carbs. Either kind are 38mm throats.

But the manifold has smaller runners, they match the normal A14/A15 oval port engines. They may be better than the GX setup below 4000 RPM. GX will be better at high RPMs.

The carb Rebuild kits will be different since the flanges on both sides are different.

A14T engines came in some B210/B211 models in Asian markets. And maybe came in F10 Cherry.
