traditionally you will ring a courier with the weight and postcodes and they can give you a more accurate price than we could.. it will pay to shop around. i have used pack and send before and they were a good price. wouldnt think armidale has an outlet though.

The engine weight of an A15 would be in the wiki i reckon and you could try pack and send they organize most of it if ya got the details they need.

Engine weight of an A15 without the gearbox is about 93 kgs. Some freight companies get a bit funny with engine oils as well, flammable substance I suppose, so you may have to drain it thoroughly.

I used a freight company called Auto Logistics who actually enlisted a company called CEVA to move my car. From Melbourne door to my door they charged $443, so I reckon if you go straight to CEVA you might get a decent price.

I reckon, you'll be looking at about $150 maximum.

Oooh er, right you are! I thought CEVA did back-loading...

Maybe you are better off looking a little harder around Adelaide datto1200drz? Come to think about it $150 might be undrpriced...

They pop up every now and then.

Other things to consider are loading/unloading. The engine will have to be on a skid. Round the weight up to be safe, bank on 110kg for a safety margin. Then there is getting it on or off the truck. Old mate in the truck won't be interested in lifting it. Do you have fork access? Or several burly lads to get it off. Minimum of 4 blokes. Unless you are happy with awkward load injuries!!

You are probably better off driving over to get it. Any excuse to get out of SA right!! No...? Bad joke?? My bad.
