Not the best engine in the 2-liter turbo field, but it is powerful.Quote:
Datusn 1200 ute, 1985, straight and tidy. Paintwork is not a showcar standard but its neat. Fully mod plated. 4g63 turbo motor (sohc from starion), forged pistons, balanced bottom end, custom cam made for this motor(lumpy idle but not stupid), head fully reconditioned (with a lot of headwork done previously), shaved a touch, new gaskets, head bolts etc, gt2860rs dual ballbearing turbo, standard boost of 14 psi, no boost controller fitted, just line from manifold to wastegate actuator, 3 inch dump pipe, 3 inch exhaust, 600x300x75 front mount intercooler, stainless pipework, seq. blow off valve, custom intake manifold with falcon throttlebody, 550cc injectors, custom fuel rail, fuel regulator, 500hp in-tank pump and holley blue external, surge tank, catch can, Microtech lt8-s computer with plug and cable to hook to laptop with software to tune, locked diff with 4.11 ratio, 5 speed gearbox. Rev limiter set to 7300rpm. Disc brakes front, hard suspension in the back with anti-tramp bars fitted, wheel tubs also ( just require inner cut cut out to fit the monster rubber under her), isolator switch inside the cab

I have owned a lot of quick cars but this is definately out of the ordinary. Previously the vehicle was tuned for 22psi and made 332hp at the wheels, now considering i have had this ute on the scales and it weighs in at exactly 800kg with 20 litres of fuel in the tank, the power to weight ratio is extremely good thumbsup.gif . There is a lot of other modifications not listed in here. It is currently registered with approx 5 months rego left on it, because of the locked diff if you wanted the rego it would be best that you get your own roadworthy or install other standard centre i have here for it. The head etc was completed less than 2 months ago with new gaskets etc and pictures of the pistons you see, the motor has not done a lot of work as you can see. Awesome car with great power yet still has manners

hi, i am new to the site, hello Thats my ute i am selling. Just to clarify, i paid 4 grand for it? i wish! just a head gasket? again....i wish! I paid $5500 for it and stripped it down. Head needed all valves done, machining, resurfaced etc, it has a better cam in it now than before, not to mention fuel problems sorted, brakes, electrical issues, then all the nitty gritty such as wipers, door locks, ignition etc. I have spent just over 3000 on it myself, thats not including roughly 200 hours i have spent on the car either! Considering if you were to pay someone to do the hours i have, i think its a pretty bloody good price, and considering its also registered now too!

Congrats on bringing the old ute to a new powerful life. Sounds like you did a lot of great work.

Being as it is already rego'd that is a good price.
