Can i supercharge my A14 motor with Side drafts

Hi Guy's

I am a newbie to this forum and was wondering if anyone can help me out with the above question, i have a standard A14 motor all that has been done is, gas flowed head and weber 40 side drafts and now i want to go blower

Please help

It would be easier to go injection, rather than twin carby's in a blown set-up.

But yes, it is possible.

Whilst Lotus successfully went down the blown twin sidedraught path, the average man in the street may find this path so littered with difficulty's as to make it nigh on impossible to do with the degree of success that will make him smile rather than pull his hair out in desperation and wish he had never seen the prick of a thing.

Not sure how this works but it looks like the primary throttle is much earlier on in the arrangement. I do not know how it all works though. Maybe the side-draughts are simply used for fuel dispersion so they might have the butterflies removed, and rely on the first body to control throttle....not sure.

What's the fuss? You just build a carburetor hat box, same as with a single carb. Webers can easily hold 5 psi the same as most factory turbo setups.


Now if you want to optimize the power it can get complicated in a hurry. What with intercoolers, boost limiters, bypass valves, water injection cooling, etc. But you don't have to do all that.
