mate if i was you i would just stick with and orgineal dash. get it refurbished and it will look good. (preferably get the coup dashes because they look heaps tuff!! (unfortunitly by the time you get one re-done it will cost around about the same as a fibrglass one :S . i know of a few people who just ground it back to flat (where it was cracked in the usual places) bogged the cracks, painted it black and then got the top vinaled and they looked quite good. :) but good luck! i would love to see some pics as well! hmm nah im in the act. yeah so far i have failed to find anyone that is still making them fiberglass dashes. i have tried to upload pictures but i cant seem to get it right.. so if anyone could give me a 101 on uploading pictures that would be tops... Well staus on the car, its currently at the mechanic who conveniently just took two weeks holiday, when i bought it it didnt have a carby on it and the choke was on the wrong side. so once thats done its time to get rego on it. so i should have it back in about two weeks than i plan to roll the guards find some wheels. i was looking at some black five spokes i would put up a pic but dont know how. After that its probably in need for some interior work like getting the headliner sun visors etc reupholstered in black. and that is probably when ill address my dash situation. once thats all good put in a banging stereo and than start stripping it back and painting it. I really like the new holden poison ivy green so i might do something similar to that. And then i need to find a torneu (no idea how to speel it) cover i will cut the hooks off and make it a press stud one as i think they look nice and clean. Than ill look into the a12 and just tidy and polish that now, Maybe some extractors and minor engine mods but cant promise anything...
So they are the plans so far. fell free to recommend parts and pieces and what not as that is just a rough idea of what i was looking at.

yeh good stuff man. i wanna do the same with my dato but being 15 and having very little cash kinda stops a lot of that haha :S. umm one think i might suggest is that if you try and find an original dash it has a glove box and (in my opinion) will be much help. Ive seen glove box's made with a box inside them with a head unit on it so that no one can see that theres anything good in there.

so me and you are on the same page when it comes to budget and funding. i was wondering were i should put my head deck but im not sure

lol fair enough. well i have seen custom made boxes that have been put in the glove box. also in my old mans coupe he has pulled the old radio out and cut a slightly bigger hole so that our new sony stereo fits:)

yeah well when i get it back ill sus it out and see what i am going to do.

good stuff! have you figured out what your going to do with the dashboard yet? where abouts are you also?

im in the act. hmm well unless i can find a fiberglass one with gauges at a half decent price, but i will probably just end up getting the one i have re done, and cut out the clock (which doesnt work) and put in a taco. but yeah thats whats on the cards for now unless something else pops up.
