Most 1200 sedans and coupes were built before 1 Jan 1973. But about a third were built after.

In the USA, they fitted a dated badge on the b-pillar
In Australia they fitted a dated badge on the engine compartment firewall
You can also tell approximately by the build number.

But it depends mostly on what the UK government will accept, doesn't it?

If i can provide evidence then its tax free and anything free is a bonus in the UK

Mine says B110 175360, is that pre 1971?

Plate just under bonnet on passenger side should have date stamp. Just had a look at one of the old sedans and it has 10/72.

Mine did not come with a compliance plate :( .
