Perhaps you could re-read your post as if you were a complete stranger to see it as others see it.

I have no idea of what it is that you want or need.

sorry my bad. so take off in first then second third forth, and you go for fifth and it doesn't engage as such but goes into "fifth" but there is no gears to drive the wheels. just revs the engine as if in neutral.

I think you have a smooth case 4 speed gearbox Stu? There was a 60 series 4 speed available.

EDIT: Posted at the same time sorry. Sounds like it's stuffed, fork out some cash for a rebuild!

I've had this b4 where the box was only a 4 speed but was so flogged out was like it had a fifth, either find out if it's a 5 speed and if so get it looked at if not just don't go for 5th

haha yer i try not go for it.. i just got a 4speed.. i just dont kno wat condition its in.. so im wondering if i should pull out the potential 5speed or rebuild the 4speed i just got??

BTW im new to dattos and the mechanic side of things.. but im keen on doing it all (with a lil help :D )

Stu is this the 4spd gearbox you got off me?

Did you replace the shifter bushes on it as well? This would stop ALOT of the slop and play.

If the gearbox is stuffed bring it back and we'll figure something out?.
