Can anyone tell me if KB10 rear brake shoes are the same as other 1000 variants?
Cheers Matty

Yes Matt
The compound on the last set was not the garden variety they wanted to supply but something out of Melbourne that was able to cop more of a frying.
Doing Carnell?

How good are the standard 1000 front drums? Can they handle a fair pounding around a track?

Thanks Rob
I am hoping to do Carnell in September but I'm no chance for the first round.
I still haven't finished fitting the front discs yet and my motorsport budget has taken a pounding of late.

Rev - the front drums were fine for the first few track days I did but have developed some nasty shudder since. I have been unable to get rid of the vibrations despite repeated machining, replacement of bushes etc. Hence the change to front discs.

Rob did a fair bit of work to get the drum set up working well and can no doubt explain it all better than I can but they are not the standard Datsun set up.

So what are some options we have for the rear drums shoes? Is it still possible to get that superior rear coupe compound?
I have been reading about drilling the drums with good results, this might help cure some fade:

Matty, I have a window winder mechanism that may be for a coupe, it doesn't fit my sedan. It is mounted by four bolts rather than the three setup my car uses. Could take a picture if you like?
Cheers

Mate photos would be very much appreciated!

I will leave it to Rob to answer the brake questions.
