2 pack is the best FTW lol looks nice and bright ill definitely notice this when im driving around, even though its not the best finish top points for doing it yourself i love it. im stuck using those horrible export rattle cans atm just to put a seal over the little blemishes ive been fixing i really need to get my hands on a speed file, orbital sander, compressor and some spray guns to put a decent coat on my ute eventually

haha, yea that fan bit the dust! Thanks again for the comments. Yea don't think I've seen anyone around the gold coast with my color paint, there are two coupes with a more mellow orange floating about here though.

Should I be worried about the rain today affecting the paint while the car is sitting in the garage?

How long do we wait before I drive her home to my house?

Cheers.

id wait at least 24 hours from painting since it hasnt been baked in a booth.

how dry is the paint? if its dry then driving or moisture shouldnt effect it at all.

Its completely dry to the touch.

However, if you pick at a non-conspicuous spot with your fingernail you can take a little bit off of it still.

Put it out in the sun for half a day then a full day after that.

Looks good, good work.

great effort and for the $$$ who cares- paint it again better in 5 years or so.

love the paint on the flymesh and the extractor fan system hahahaha- thats my style if i paint in a garage- currently pressure packs in a open roof car port.

hey mate looks great, be good to see it cruising down on the GC
from my minimal painting experience, i would say that you may have had the pressure up a bit high,
hence the overspray all over the place.

correct me if i am wrong though.

Put all the bits back on and just drove her home to my garage tonight. Looking damn sexy. Even had a headturner from a guy in a purple hilux at a dark stop light, guess the color stands out even in the dark. Can't wait to see it in the daylight. Thanks again for the advice and the compliments guys. Will post some pics tomorrow. High five.

Yikes, be careful of those guys the headturner might be have a completely different agenda!

Good to hear you're happy with it, I recon you did a top job on getting it all done so quickly and with bugger all hesitation.

Many a car on this site without paint after many years of intentions to paint (I have a couple!)

Snapped these pics this morning of the finished paint. Still real stoked with the job. Going to give it a hand buff next week, what polish do you guys recommend?

Thinking ahead of what to do next. Need to find out why my battery goes flat nearly everyday; put them rims on; rubber mat for the tray; gauge decals; install my new 1/4 window rubbers; install my new maddat steering brace. Should be sweet after all that. Maybe new front steering arms/joints etc...in a few months.

Cheers.

EDIT: Shall I put the black stripes back on the bonnet or not? Whaddayareckon?
