Anything supplied with the vehicle Roadworthy Engineers cert is 99% useless in Tassie. In which case you may have looked into before buying and be aware of. If you look into it he has to supply those things namely the roadworthy if selling within his state QLD not out of state. The problem or problems started when the vehicle came into your possession therefore sad but true the problems are yours. Look through Franks profile at his build up photos he is very professional and particular when it comes to building cars and using quality parts. So i doubt he would have sent this thing away with any known issues. Or without giving it a check over/service before it left him.

A similar thing happened to me a few years ago when selling a car interstate. Buyer claimed that the head was #OOPS#ed when he got it, wanted me to pay for the towing etc etc. He only wanted $350 to cover the costs though?? I asked for receipts and never heard back from him again...

Few months later i see the car is being parted out and has taken a big hit in the rear panel. Insurance job maybe?

sounds the same as my situation, sold my swift gti for 2.500, way way to cheap, it had all the goods, he came and inspected it 3 times and was happy with the 2.500 i was asking, i told him that it was low on fuel, and it would be a good idea to go and fill it with premium, and he replied o.k, 3 HOURS later he rocked up on my door step telling me it was running like #OOPS#, so i went and had a look, upon looking over the engine, the emense heat that was coming of it i asked him had he been flogging it, he replied "no" and i said "i have owned this car for 7 years, and your telling me that i dont know when its been flogged"? he went quiet, and replied that the "air flow metre is dirty" i said "o really? thats funny it dosent have one" (micro tec). i told him had he put fuel in it yet? he replied "no i dont have any money to put fuel in it" so i said well thats your fault then" and he left.. then i got a fone call out of the blue one day. he said they put a new battery in it and now it wont start, i said "mate the car came with driveway warrenty" stop calling me telling me there is stuff wrong with the car" "you came here 3 times with your eyes open to look at the car not shut" and i hung up. then i got a call from his missus and i she explained that they had put a new battery in it (again). i said was the engine turning over with the old battery? she replied "yes" and i said well it didnt need a new battery, it is only 4 months old, and she asked if i could come have alook at it, i said no and asked her to ask her boyfriend what i told him. but what i can gather, they have hooked the battery up backwards and fried the computer, as they told me it had no power to the handset. the battle still go's on, i would tell the bloke to get real, he obviously knows that the car was in good form, and thought " sweet, a boosted 1200" and went sick. but its like a feral dog, you feed it, it'll keep coming back.

since we dont have any of the registration issues you guys down under have to deal with I cant speak to that, But.........whatever happen to the simple understanding that when one buys something used there is no warranty period. I've sold many vehicles in my life & I've always included one or both of these statements "sold as is where is" and "no warranties expressed or implied" this language is mainly for the buyers who think everything is someone else's responsibility.

Dude, you bought a car, something broke, you fixed it, end of story. I'd say you've got buyers remorse more then the "I got screwed by the seller" deal.
