FU suffix
F = Five Speed
U = United States

In most other countries it was marketed as the Datsun Cherry FII or Datsun 100A/120A F-II and in Japan as the Nissan Cherry F-II.

thanks David, you win a prize yesterday? Oddly enough I assumed the wagon was a 4 spd as thats what the knob on the shifter is but maybe its a 5 spd., did they offer a 4 in that line at all?

Naw the new Datsun truck won a Best in Class trophy

If it says AU on the ID Plate then it was originally an automatic. If it says FU then it was originally a Five-Speed.

Same story as the B210. It was to compete with the SR-5.
