Hello all in Datsun Land! I have the small brake B310 and am having a hell of a time trying to locate struts, rotors and strut tops for this girl. Found calipers and what I thought would be all the correct parts from Rock Auto, unfortunately the strut cartridges and rotors are no bueno.... Can anyone hook me up with either a proper parts shop to get this stuff from, or a way to change over my front end to the larger B310 brakes and struts. My other option is to do coil overs with adjustable tops and cut down struts I guess.

All help is greatly appreciated. Budget of about 750-900.

And I'm in Vancouver Canada area on the west coast.

Cheers

Squids

Squids, they are available from Nissan, part numbers:
* 56105-H5025 front shock absorber (for Datsun B110)
* 54320-N8200 strut insulator
* 40206-H7500 Rotor (not available from Nissan USA)

Or any Datsun 1200 strut cartridge insert should work. Which is to say there are only a few choices. They need to fit in 45mm struts. See Strut Insert Part Numbers. VW Golf inserts are a popular choice.

Why not just swap the struts over to large-brake B310? You'll get better brakes. Get the entire Strut/Brake assembly from Ralphs, only $45 each side + $18 for the spring. They will increase the front track 30mm (same as a stock A14-powered B310).

One of the best parts shops is rockauto.com. The rotors are getting hard to find. They are the 220mm rotors, only used by CAN A12-powered B310. But they were used outside North America for B210s, so are readily available. Best bet would be to find them within Canada, or mail order from another country.

How do I get in touch with Ralph? Cuz I will do that in a heart beat. Bigger brakes is what needs to happen. Need to get this car to stop drifting and voicing so much in the front end at higher speeds. Thanks again DD

Well Ralph's again is a no go. No H190 rear end or anything 210 or B310.... So I'm gonna have to get something else figured out... Any ideas anyone? Bigger brakes and struts for the A12A powered 210/B310.

Cheers

H190 rear end? Are you planning on fitting a V8 in there?

Bigger brakes won't stop drifting and voicing at higher speeds. To fix that it needs a Wheel alignment done to modern specifications.

Bigger brakes will 1) potentially make the car stop faster 2) be less fade-resistant. With stock width tires, bigger brakes will not stop any faster, it needs wider/stickier rubber to stop faster. In fact, if you cannot lock up the front wheels by braking, bigger brakes won't help.

Lots of ideas. You can buy turnkey strut/brake assemblies from Datsport for $1695. For other ideas, see Strut Swaps. Nearly everything that applies to Datsun 1200 applies to the Datsun B310.

No V8 but I just put my new A15 with twins in there. Dyno sheet said 182 HP and 157 torque. I have an SR20 DET red top fully rebuilt with heavy cam and all that jazz. That's why I want the H190. And for the rear disc brakes. I guess datsport front end is all I can do for now..... Shoulda bought and god damn 510.

And so now it's come to this. ANYoNe on the west coast of North America, I will drive my car down to you and pay you to get the front end of this car sorted once and for all. Otherwise I sell it and get something in the 510 world....... This B310 already has over 13,000 put into it..... Sick of wasting my time ordering parts that don't fit and not wing able to return them in time for refunds.... DD you interested in a car visiting ur shop for a week or so?

Sounds like you'd be happier with a 510. The B310 is a less common upgrade platform, so there less aftermarket parts sold for it. If you want easy upgrades, go with the body of knowledge that 510s afford.
